Busy schedule for Scampi

CARNOUSTIE Canine Capers will have a special visitor this month.

From Monday (November 19), Scampi the Jack Russell will be enjoying an extended holiday in the town and during his time will raise awareness about animal rescue.

During his visit Scampi will collect treats and toys for local shelters and will have a thorough check up at Wallace’s Veterinary Centre, including vaccinations and checking his microchip.

Donations can be dropped off at Mel’s Pet Shop Too, Monifieth, the Panmure Centre, Carnoustie, or Pauline’s Grooming Parlour, Easthaven.

While Scampi is in Carnoustie he will attend the Therapets seminar on Wednesday (November 21), between 7 and 9 p.m. at the Panmure Centre.

Scampi will also be attending the Dog Management Training seminar at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, in the Holyrood Church hall.

Convener of the Scottish Canine Consultative Council George Cochrane and colleague Roy Campbell will be explaining the benefits of the Acorn Project Dog Management training programme.

It’s aimed at anyone with a dog, is considering a dog or works with them in any capacity. The 12-week course covers everything from communication and nutrition to welfare and travel. There will be refreshments on arrival and a light lunch will be provided for a nominal fee.
