Brechin’s Caledonian Railway has been run as a tourist attraction by a group of volunteers since 1993 .

The railway line originally ran between Brechin and Montrose, but was closed to passengers in the 1950s, before the full closure of the line by British Rail in 1981.

The volunteers who now run Caledonian Railway, however, re-instated the line for four miles to the Bridge of Dun station.

The dedicated group maintains steam and diesel engines at the station, and they organise a series of special events throughout the year, including the popular Santa Express and Day out with Thomas and Friends.
