Broughty Ferry RNLI's all weather lifeboat was launched yesterday (Friday) after reports of a windsurfer in trouble.
The alert came in at 3.03pm of the windsurfer in trouble off St Andrews beach. The lifeboat, Elizabeth of Glamis, crewed by volunteers was launched at 3.06pm.
On arrival off St Andrews, with a 3-4 metre sea swell, an extensive search of the area was carried out.
No windsurfer was found. It is believed the windsurfer may have safely got ashore and left.
The lifeboat had returned to station in ready for any further calls by 6.05pm.
