Campaign urges people to choose life

The Choose Life campaign has been marking Suicide Prevention Week this week across the local area by asking people to ‘read between the lines’.

Last year 28 people in Angus and Dundee took their own lives, leaving a lasting impact on their families, friends and communities.

The Choose Life campaign, ‘Read Between the Lines’, calls on everyone to be alert to the warning signs of suicide in people close to them.

Gail Forrest, the Choose Life co-ordinator in Angus said: “We all tend to know when someone close to us isn’t quite themselves and just asking someone if something is troubling them can really make a big difference. Talking can help someone get clarity about what it is that’s troubling them, and often gives a sense of perspective.”
