A BLIND Carnoustie woman has completed an amazing challenge to raise money for a national charity.
Margaret Morrison (62), took part in the Drive Blind 2012 Challenge at the Nissan Test Track in Sunderland on June 10.
Her challenge was to drive a British School of Motoring dual-control car at 85mph for three laps of the track.
Margaret said: “Can you imagine driving round a test track at 85mph blindfolded?
“Well, I am blind, so I didn’t need the blindfold, but I did drive at that speed and it was the most amazing experience ever.”
Margaret was also lucky enough to win a place as a passenger in a rally car, which the budding daredevil also thoroughly enjoyed.
She added: “Speeding towards a brick wall didn’t scare me, it was another fantastic experience and I loved every minute of it.
“The Guide Dogs Newcastle team and volunteers, BSM, and not forgetting the rally drivers, made this a day for me to remember.
“I would like to thank everyone who sponsored me. With your help I have to date raised over £530 for Guide Dogs, and the whole event raised around £7,000.”
