Carnoustie Legion Irish Night raises £210

DANCERS from the Angus Centre for Performing Arts who presented a highly professional and entertaining exhibition of Irish dancing at a fund-raising Irish Night held by Carnoustie Branch of the Royal British Legion last Saturday to mark St Patrick’s Day.

They were were, from left, back - Hana Smith, Emily Christison, Mairi Clark, Abby Farquharson, Anna Gilbride, Beatrix Clark, Jennifer Balfour, Samantha Hunter, Aimee Elgin and Leah Craib: front - Sarah Oliphant, Jolene Hamilton, Lana Conchie, Ami Conchie, Niamh Harper and Nyah Allardice, who accompanied by their teacher, Lisa Linton.

Tam Horne played a selection of Irish melodies on the fiddle, accompanied by the band Stolen Moments, and suitable Irish fare was served at the interval.

A total of £210 was raised which will be presented to Erskine Hospital which cares for injured and disabled service personnel.
