TAYSIDE police recognised the outstanding service of a Carnoustie woman at an awards ceremony on Tuesday.

The Eastern Division Excellence Awards, held at the Eastern Division headquarters in Forfar, acknowledges the exceptional contributions of civilians and serving officers.

Police assistant Patricia Gray was praised for dispensing her duties with commitment, professionalism and enthusiasm for over 35 years.

Her attitude was felt to create a positive image for the police, and her skills had been fully tested during major golf championships, during which she was in charge of lost property.

Presenting the awards were Tayside joint police board convener Ian Mackintosh and Assistant Chief Constable Angela Wilson.
