THE LINE-UP of amateur golfers set to join the world class field of professionals for the Dunhill Links at Carnoustie next week has been announced.
The pro-am tournament which sees the pairs play the Championship Course as well as St Andrews and Kingsbarns has already revealed that Darren Clarke, Rory McIlroy and Charl Schwartzel will be taking part from Thursday.
From the world of entertainment joining them will be actors Hugh Grant, Kyle MacLachlan and John O’Hurley, as well as musicians Huey Lewis, Tico Torres of Bon Jovi and Don Felder from the Eagles.
Radio presenter Chris Evans is also set to take part along with sporting knights Sir Ian Botham, Sir Bobby Charlton, Sir Matthew Pinsent and Sir Steve Redgrave.
The world of football will be represented by Johan Cruyff, Ruud Gullit, Jamie Redknapp and Alan Hansen.
While cricketers including current England captain Andrew Strauss, Allan Lamb , Mark Nicholas plus Steve Waugh and Shane Warne will be hoping to hit the competition for six.
Joining them will be former tennis player Tim Henman, rugby players Morne du Plessis and Hugo Porta, downhill skier Franz Klammer and world surfing champion Kelly Slater.
Last year’s professional winner Martin Kaymer will also be returning to competition, hoping to become the first person to win back-to-back Dunhill titles.
The top two players in the world Luke Donald and Lee Westwood will also be competing as well as major winners Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Padraig Harrington, Graeme McDowell and Louis Oosthuizen.
Entry to the Carnoustie course while the competition takes place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be free.
