CARNOUSTIE Musical Society members got together in character recently for an exhibition celebrating the group’s centenary.
The exhibition begins tomorrow (Saturday) in Carnoustie Library and is the first event to recognise 100 years of musicals in the town.
Visitors will be able to see footage from past shows, displays of old programmes, posters, photos and even club minutes from as far back as the 1920s.
Society president Kevin Smith said: “Some of the excerpts from previous committee meeting minutes are extremely amusing.
“No punches were pulled it seems.
“One leading man was even ordered to take singing lessons before being allowed to take his part, although the society did pay for the lessons!”
He continued: “I hope many of our members, both past and present, as well as friends of the society and members of the public take the time to visit our exhibits and see what we are doing and have done over the last 100 years.”
The exhibition will run from tomorrow (Saturday) until Friday, February 17.
Society members will be on hand on both Saturdays to provide information for anyone interested in joining.
