An Angus lady has roped in a dozen friends for a crazy charity challenge next

month.

Linda Merrilees has badgered and cajoled 12 friends from all over Angus to join her in taking part in the Marie Curie Daredevil Challenge, which will see them abseil 140 feet off the top of the University of Dundee’s Tower Building.

The team, aptly named ‘Dopes On A Rope,’ will be one of the biggest teams taking part in the annual fund-raiser on Saturday, June 6, and they hope to raise at least £3000 which will fund 150 hours of this care in our postcode.

Linda said: “I’m really looking forward to it - I’m not sure everyone else is feeling that way though! It’s a great event, you don’t need to train or be fit - you just turn up - and within 15 minutes you’ve achieved a great challenge and raised money for a brilliant charity.”

Ranging in age from 21 to 75, are Carnoustie folk Jill Neal, Pam Cruickshank, Gordon Brown, Hilary Brown, Andrew Brown, Jean Deans, Amanda Thomson, Dawn Mitchell and Jenni Paterson; Julie Duff, Arbroath; Jackie Low, Monifieth; and Alex Dolan from Dundee. Some abseil spots are still available, contact Hazel Mitchell on 01382 736627 or email nutella11.hm@gmail.com
