More than £5,000 was presented to four charities following a successful swing concert by a trio of Arbroath crooners. A grand total of £5,109.10 was raised at the ‘That’s Life’ concert in the Meadowbank Inn last month which transported audiences back to the heyday of swing, Las Vegas and the Rat Pack. The performers presented cheques of £2,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support and to the British Heart Foundation, and split the remaining funds between the Arbroath Town Mission and the CAFE Project which each received £554.45. Doug Ford, Alan Mowatt and Stuart Cargill performed some classic tracks from the period, including songs by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin and many more. They were joined by female vocalist Tracy Gibson, comedian Frank Murray and compere Matt Paterson.
