Club hears about India

Guest speaker at a meeting of Carnoustie Probus Club in the Station Hotel on Wednesday morning was Jean Lowson, whose husband David is a club member.

Jean gave an interesting account of some of her experiences while employed as a civil servant at the India Office in London during the 1940s and ‘50s.

Many humorous and serious stories about her travels to both India and the African continent were received by an appreciative audience.

Alistair Wylie presided and the vote of thanks was given by Peter Murphy. At the club’s next meeting on Wednesday, July 3, David Lampard’s subject will be ‘The Strathmore Meteor’.
