THE OFFICIAL mascot of the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games will be in Carnoustie tomorrow (Friday) as part of his nationwide tour.
Carnoustie Leisure Centre is hosting the Games for Angus event to introduce children to a variety of sports inspired by the Commonwealth Games and mascot Clyde.
Afterwards Clyde will show off his own athletic abilities as he spreads the word about the 17 different sports that make up the Commonwealth Games.
Clyde will be at the Leisure Centre from 10 a.m. and will also visit the Rugby Club and then the High School pool around 1 p.m.
Glasgow 2014 chief executive, David Grevemberg, said: “Clyde is bursting with pride that his hometown of Glasgow is hosting the Commonwealth Games in less than two years’ time. He just can’t wait to share his excitement and make new young friends all over Scotland.
“Through programmes like Games for Scotland, our young people are being inspired and motivated through sport and their excitement is palpable.
“I’m positive Clyde will have a great time in Angus as he helps encourage the terrific appetite for sport that exists among the next generation of Scots.”
