Carnoustie Community Helpline held their annual general meeting in the Philip Hall, Carnoustie, on Tuesday evening.
Chairperson Mrs Edna Boffey welcomed the company. She thanked the volunteers for all their help but stressed that the charity is still looking for more drivers. Anyone interested can contact Edna on 01241 852649 for fuller details.
Treasurer Mike Richardson gave the financial report saying that 2012 had been the busiest for runs to hospitals, clinics and health centres in the 30-plus years the charity had been going, with 755 in total.
The new committee for 2013 was elected as follows: chairperson, Edna Boffey; vice-chairperson, Lorna Grant; secretary, Fraser Lyall; treasurer, Mike Richardson. Committee - Graham Landsburgh, Tom McKay, Bob Ower, Chris Robertson, Sheena Seaton, Claire Selfridge, Fred Smith and Fiona Wallace.
After the business meeting, members enjoyed refreshments and a question and answer session. The main fund-raiser this year will be a tombola stall at the Carnoustie Gala Day on Saturday, July 6. Prizes can be handed in to any committee member. A vote of thanks was proposed by Sheena Seaton.
