COUNCILLOR Peter Murphy presided and welcomed members to the 28th annual general meeting of Carnoustie Probus Club in the Station Hotel on Wednesday morning.
The following office-bearers and committee members were elected for the forthcoming 12-month period: president, David Selfridge; vice-president, Grant Macintosh; secretary, Bill Parris; treasurer, Leslie Hunter; honorary auditor, Ron Thoms; Rotary rep, David Selfridge; committee members, Brian Scanlan and Alastair Wylie.
On completion of the business, past president Mr Murphy told many fascinating and humorous stories and rhymes about what Dundee was like in the 1950s and ‘60s, providing a very nostalgic ‘look back’ for all present.
Prior to giving the vote of thanks, Eric Milton shared his childhood memories of the ‘Hackie’ and ‘Blackie’ area of the city.
