Angus Council’s roads team were out early this morning (Tuesday) to spread the first salt of their winter maintenance programme as temperatures begin their seasonal drop.

Over the course of the winter, the local authority’s roads staff and specialised vehicles will cover 1100 miles of roads and pavements - wherever the weather dictates - as part of the council’s £2.7 million operation to battle ice, snow and freezing conditions.
