Counting down to ToonFest

THE T’S are dotted and the eyes are crossed or should that be the other way around?

The finer detail of ToonFest was put together on Tuesday evening at Arbroath Round Table’s penultimate meeting prior to the event. ToonFest is now only eight days away!

The world lagers are ordered, a wee last minute change from original order due to stock availability so the lagers being imported are: Hite - South Lorea, PABST Blue Ribbon - USA, Moosehead - Canada, Cisk - Malta, Viru - Estonia, Carib - Trinidad, Beer Lao - Laos, Steigl Beer - Austria, Bangla - Bangladesh and Cubanero Fuerte from Cuba.

These lagers feature during the World Lager Festival during the afternoon session and whilst stocks last.

What is ToonFest?

ToonFest is a live music and drinks festival featuring some fantastic musicians - Smokehouse, Alan Mowatt, Danielle-Leigh Emmerson, Sway and The Declaration Band.

I don’t like lager?

Don’t worry, we have a full bar of all the usual stuff including ale, cider, spirits, soft drinks, wine and fizzy plonk with strawberries! The bar won’t break the bank either, a great day/night out and you should go home with change in your pocket!

It’s a music festival and although the weather has been awful, won’t it get cancelled?

No, the great news is that it’s indoors - the rain can’t affect it.

Where is it?

Arbroath Community Centre. Don’t worry though as it won’t look like the community centre. The Round Table turned an empty barn into an cracking venue, just wait until you see what they do to make Arbroath’s biggest one day only bar!

What are you doing with all the money you raise?

Every penny raised by Arbroath Round Table is redistributed to local good causes by its members over the following year. They stress the word local - they support local individuals and groups.

How much is it?

Session one is only a fiver to get in and session two is a tenner, but all session two tickets include your first drink on the night.

Session one, from 12 noon until 5.30 p.m., features Smokehouse, Alan Mowatt and The Declaration Band, while session two, 7 p.n. until 1 a.m., features Smokehouse, Dani-Leigh Emmerson and Sway.

How do I get a ticket?

Simple - buy online at, see an Arbroath Round Table Member if you know one or call Jonny Booth on 07908 689103.
