A BROUGHTY Ferry councillor has revealed the crazy golf course on the Castle Green is to get a makeover.
SNP member Kevin Cordell had taken up the issue with Dundee City Council after visiting the area recently.
He informed the environment department that the facility was looking worn but was delighted to hear that the area is in line for improvements.
The news comes just a week after it was announced that Broughty Ferry had regained its Blue Flag status for beach cleanliness.
He explained: “I was there last week with my young son but found it a wee bit tired looking with cracked concrete and leaf litter.
“I contacted the environment department and they have advised they have embarked upon a programme of improvements and are about to improve the playing surface through the laying of an all weather surface with materials recovered from the Dundee International Sports Complex.
“This should be done by the start of the school holidays and I am told the materials are currently being washed in preparation.
“Not only will it improve the current facility in time for the holidays I think the recycling is a good example of ‘joined up’ working.
“There is also a much needed lick of paint scheduled.
“Castle Green is a marvellous asset and with the beach regaining its Blue Flag status it seems like the Ferry is geared up for the summer months.”
