Appeal after cigarette theft

OVER £4000 worth of cigarettes have been stolen after a break-in at a Broughty Ferry supermarket.

The Co-operative Food store in Campfield Square was targeted at about 2 a.m. on Monday (May 21).

Police are keen to trace two well-built men who were seen acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident.

One of the men was wearing a blue-coloured boiler suit and the other man was wearing a khaki/green-coloured jacket with an orange-coloured T-shirt underneath, and dark-coloured jeans or trousers.

Both men were also wearing white-coloured gloves and dark-coloured headwear. They were last seen walking towards Strathmore Street.

Anyone who saw these men or anyone who was in the area at the time and has information that may assist officers with their enquiries is asked to contact Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222, or speak to any officer.
