Appeal for witnesses

POLICE in Carnoustie are appealing for witnesses after a girl was bitten by a dog in Victoria Street at about 6.45 p.m. on Saturday (May 19).

The eight-year-old suffered a minor arm injury as a result of the incident, which was later treated at hospital.

Police are keen to trace the owner of the dog, who is described as being between 40 to 55-years-old, about five feet 10 inches tall, of medium to stocky build, with short grey hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a blue coat and brown boots.

The man was walking two dogs that are described as being Rottweilers, or a similar breed.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who knows the identity of this man to contact Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222, or speak to any officer.
