ONE YEAR on, the circumstances surrounding the death of a Carnoustie man remain unsolved.

On the morning of Sunday, December 11, 2011, paramedics were summoned to the Kinloch Street home of Samuel Anthony (Tony) English (59).

He was pronounced dead at the scene and deciding that Mr English’s death occurred in suspicious circumstances a crime scene was established.

The normally quiet part of town was busy with Tayside Police officers and scene of crime investigators.

As the search area expanded, neighbours were asked to remain indoors while door to door interviews were carried out.

Mr English was originally from Lisburn, County Antrim in Northern Ireland, and had lived in Carnoustie for around 30 years.

According to Tayside Police a report on the matter has been sent to the procurator fiscal but they are still appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone who can assist the investigation should call 0300 111 2222, or speak to any officer.

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
