An accident involving a Carnoustie man on the A92 last month is the subject of an independent investigation.

On June 2 pedestrian Greig Yorke (39) was involved in a serious road accident on the A92 Arbroath to Carnoustie which cost him his lower left leg.

The incident is now the subject of an investigation by the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC).

A statement on their website said: “Following an incident on Sunday 2 June involving a 39 year old male pedestrian and a vehicle on the A92 Arbroath to Carnoustie road, the Police Service of Scotland referred the matter the Police Investigations & Review Commissioner.

“An investigation into the matter is underway and a report will be submitted to the Chief Constable in due course.”
