Police Scotland is urging householders to be on their guard after a recent spate of thefts targeting the elderly in Broughty Ferry.
A man is understood to have gained the confidence of victims by befriending them. The female victims, aged 87 and 69, have then allowed him into their homes, where it understood he has stolen a three figure sum of cash from both women. The man is described as aged mid thirties, five feet two inches tall and of stocky appearance.
Officers are appealing for anyone to come forward who may think that they have been a victim of this type of crime. Anyone with any information should contact Tayside Division on 101 or any police officer. Or alternatively via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
