Angus Council has responded to last week’s article about motorbikes on the path network at Barry Buddon by urging the public to contact Police Scotland.
We reported last week that trail bikes and similar motorcycles were being used in a dangerous manner on the network of paths which runs in and around the MoD training ground.
The paths are a popular destination for dog walkers, joggers and cyclists.
It was reported that bikes were being used without sufficient care and attention and potentially endangering other path users due to their speed and the confines of the route.
The Guide & Gazette contacted Angus Council for a comment who replied: “The walking and cycle path is for pedestrians and cyclists as the path network signage indicates.
“Motorbikes are not permitted.
“To ensure the safety of walkers and cyclists we would ask anyone witnessing a motorbike being used on the path to report it to Police Scotland on 101 as soon as possible.”
