Investigation into Carnoustie break-in

Police investigating a burglary in Carnoustie in which a quantity of jewellery of stolen are appealing for information.

Thieves broke into the house in Kinloch Square at some point between 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, and 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31.

Included in the haul is a small wooden jewellery box covered in black faux leather with a red felt lining inside and a gold lock on the front.

It contained a 24ct gold engagement ring set with three diamonds in a straight line, a 24ct gold wedding band, a silver ring set with a jade stone, a 9ct gold ring set with a ruby stone, a 9ct gold band set with five citrine quartz yellow stones, and a heavy gold chain. The jewellery is of extreme sentimental value to the owner.

Anyone with information relating to the location of the jewellery or those responsible should speak to any officer or contact Police Scotland Tayside Division on 101.
