Man assaulted and robbed

TAYSIDE Police have appealed for information after a pensioner was assaulted and robbed in Camphill Road, Barnhill, early on Saturday morning.

They revealed that the incident took place at about 2 a.m. on Saturday when a 69-year-old man was walking along Camphill Road near to Addison Street. He was making his way home having earlier been out in the centre of Broughty Ferry.

He was approached by a male who engaged him in conversation and assaulted him.  The victim fought back and his attacker made off, taking with him, the victim’s wallet and contents and his mobile telephone.

The victim was wearing brown shoes, green trousers and a brown jacket.

The person responsible is described as a male in his late 20s or early 30s, about 6 feet tall, of slim build and wearing dark clothing.
