Mugger targets wheelchair user in Broughty Ferry

Police Scotland is appealing for information after a wheelchair-bound man was assaulted and robbed in Broughty Ferry last night (Monday).

The incident took place at 9 p.m. on King Street at the junction of New Road.

The 52-year-old victim was in his wheelchair when he was approached by a man, who assaulted him and took his shopping bag from the back of his wheelchair, which was recovered a short time later. The man suffered minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

The suspect is described as being about five feet seven inches tall, in his early twenties of medium build, with dark-coloured hair and facial hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top with a dark-coloured T-shirt, blue-coloured jogging bottoms and blue-coloured trainers.
