Police Scotland Angus have appealed for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision which occurred about 12.40 a.m. on Thursday on the A933 Arbroath to Brechin Road, about half a mile south of the junction to Friockheim.

A black Honda Civic and a silver Ford Fiesta motor car were travelling together when control of the Honda Civic was lost and it collided with a tree. The driver sustained minor injuries but the passenger was more seriously injured.

Both were taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment, but their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Police Scotland ask that anyone who was in the area at the time, anyone who may have witnessed the accident or anyone who may have seen the vehicles together contact them by phoning 101 or speaking to any police officer.
