A SERIES of break-ins and attempted break-ins to lock-ups in Cairnie Loan, Arbroath, are being investigated by police.
The thieves targeted the lock-ups between 3.30 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, and 7.30 a.m. on Friday, October 26. Padlocks and bolts were tampered with in an attempt to break into the garages.
Police are trying to establish what was stolen and have also urged people to take the security of their garden sheds, garages and outbuildings seriously.
Nowadays, it is common for people to store expensive goods and equipment in their sheds, garages and outbuildings, which is precisely why householders should take steps to ensure their belongings are safe and make life as hard as possible for the opportunist thief.
