The final countdown has begun to get your nominations in for the 2013 Angus Ambassador Awards.

The deadline is Tuesday, September 17, and organisers Angus Ahead are urging community groups, individuals and organisations to get their nomination forms filled in and submitted so that the hard work of Angus folk can be recognised.

Nominations can be made for either the Angus Youth Ambassador award or for one of the Community Ambassador awards which demonstrates leadership in cultural, business, international or tourism sectors.

This year Angus College are sponsoring the youth category of the Angus Ambassador Awards.

Angus College principal John Burt won the International Ambassador Award in 2010. He said: “The organisations and individuals who win the Angus Ambassador Awards are extremely positive role models and with the new Dundee and Angus College having more than 8,000 students in the 16-25 year age group, it is absolutely appropriate that we are sponsoring the Youth Award.

“The new Dundee and Angus College, as of November 1, 2013, welcomes the opportunity to support young people in their endeavours.”

Applications can be found online at or at access offices, libraries and leisure centres in every Angus town. You can support the awards by following them on Twitter @AngusAmbassador and liking them on Facebook at
