Forbes and Anna Morrison celebrated 60 years of wedded bliss in their Carnoustie home on Saturday.
Originally from the Highlands, Forbes, from Inverness, and Anna, who hails from Fort William, met 64 years ago in a dance hall.
Forbes (85) said: “We met in the Caledonian Hotel. It was a tremendous place. It used to get all the big names.”
Anna (84) can remember the first time she laid eyes on Forbes. She said: “There was a crowd of young men standing up at the top of the stairs and he was one of them.”
An industrial banker Forbes’ career saw the family move around Scotland, leaving Inverness in 1961 for Invergowrie and latterly Dundee before moving to Carnoustie some 15 years ago.
They have three children, Alan, Carol and Fiona, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Anna has bagged all the Munros in Scotland and Ireland and Forbes has a great many under his belt also.
He was a keen member of Monikie Angling Club and also enjoyed playing snooker at the Caledonian Golf Club and badminton.
When asked for some advice for couples marrying today Forbes replied: “Always try and see things from the other person’s point of view.”
