A CARNOUSTIE child support group is looking expand after a successful year.
The Carnoustie Dream Catchers parent / carer and child group is hoping to attract new volunteers to help with their growing Friday afternoon session.
Carnoustie Dream Catchers was founded by Averil Hirsch and Michelle Penman in September last year to help the parents and carers of children with additional needs.
Averil said: “Our Friday Group is getting a lot bigger than we expected and we’re needing more volunteers.
“When we started the group we didn’t think it would take off as well as it has. We’re needing people to come along and help us set things up and to interact with the kids.”
The group provides a valuable connection for the parents and carers who often find themselves isolated as a result of their situation. During sessions the children are able to take part in a range of fun and stimulating activities including music therapy, soft play and a ball pool.
Averil added: “I’m sure there are people in Carnoustie who would be able to volunteer. Perhaps someone retired, a mum who’s not busy or a teenager, we’re just looking for someone who can come along and help.”
