Easthaven Residents’ Association - East Haven 800 - has won Community Project of the Year at the prestigious Herald Society Awards at a gala event in Glasgow last night (November 6).

The award is based on the work the association undertook in the year up to June 30 this year, which included many of their major projects such as rebuilding Eric’s bridge, planting trees, the Exhibition, creation of heritage bunting, community gardens etc.

Judges were unanimous in awarding it the trophy and Gordon Sloan, chair of category sponsors GHA, said: “We want to create communities people are proud to call home. This award is a fitting reward for the people and organisations who show pride and a real community spirit to make a difference in their local area.”
