PANTO: On the morning of December 5 M & M productions made their annual visit to perform a production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ for the children.
The event is always eagerly awaited and is a real Christmas treat for the children and the school is grateful to the parent council who covered the costs of this year’s performance.
FAIRLOGIE CAFE: A huge well done to the children of primary six who held their first Fairtrade café.
All the teams co-operated superbly to hold a truly worthwhile community event.
Visitors to the café were impressed by the children’s organisation, manners and general courteousness.
A number of local business people were also impressed by the business plan constructed by the children.
The café raised a staggering £239.50 which allows them to meet their loan repayment of £25 to the parent council and realise a final profit of £214.50.
SUPPORTING CHARITIES: The school and its community gathered together to raise a fantastic £490 for Children in Need.
This was achieved through donations which allowed the children to ‘dress as you please on spotty dotty day’, as well as in class events.
The day was organised by the pupil council who take a leading role in co-ordinating the charity work that the school takes part in.
Gratitude was expressed to everyone who was involved. This is a very worthwhile cause which supports children across the country.
SPORTS: The netballers were in action recently in a tournament hosted by Carlogie.
Their team spirit and sportsmanship were excellent and they finished third in the competition.
The boys’ football team was also in action. Again they were a credit to the school and also finished third.
ATHLETICS: A group of P7s, accompanied by Miss Geddes and Mrs Jackson, visited the Carnoustie Leisure Centre to compete against the other Carnoustie primary schools in an athletics competition.
The children worked well together and showed a great deal of skill and enthusiasm.
