Field Trips: Grove Academy S3 geography pupils have been taking part in fieldwork recently.
On May 18 a group visited East Scryne Farm, by Carnoustie, where they were met by farmer, James Porter, and Royal Highland Educational Trust co-ordinator, Carol Littlewood.
They were given a tour of the arable and pastoral fields before sheltering from the weather in the polytunnels where they received an insight into the growing of strawberries and raspberries.
On May 30 another group travelled to Wester Coul near Lintrathen where they saw how land use and climate differed between upland and coastal farms.
The two groups will exchange information about all they have learned to produce tables, graphs and maps which will help them complete some of their enquiry skills needed for Standard Grade geography.
