Burnside Primary School, Carnoustie, held a very special assembly to say goodbye to a very special person.

Mrs Dawn Hendry (centre) has been headteacher at Burnside for four-and-a-half years. Children and staff surprised her with an assembly to say goodbye and good luck as she leaves to take up her new post at Balgay Nursery School in Dundee. Mrs Hendry was challenged by each primary group to answer a ‘very’ difficult question. The children always got the question right before she did! Her forfeit was to join in with a special dance routine that the children had been practicing secretly for a few weeks. Also the children all made Mrs Hendry masks and wore them for a special song performed by the staff.

Pictured with Mrs Hendry are Euan Noble and Aleisha Wright who presented cards and a gift from all the children.
