THE NEW Seaview Primary School in Monifieth has received a prestigious award.
The state of the art building has received a bronze award in the Outstanding Service Delivery category in the COSLA Excellence Awards 2011.
The awards acknowledge projects which are well planned, customer focused, efficient and creative.
Visiting the school to present the award on Thursday, vice-convener of corporate services Councillor John Whyte said: “I am delighted that the new Seaview building has been recognised with this national award.
“It is tribute to all those involved in the delivering this project, which provides first class educational facilities incorporating the latest in sustainable design.”
This is the latest accolade for the school, which opened to pupils in June of last year.
The school obtained the first A-rated Energy Performance Certificate in an Angus Council building and the Carbon Trust, Low Carbon Building Award 2010.
In addition, the Scottish Government has cited the school as an excellent example of energy efficiency in the public sector.
