GAMES EVENT: Local sporting leaders gathered at a Monifieth leisure centre last week for an annual games event for primary children.

The programme was co-ordinated by Angus Active Schools and was held in the David Lloyd Leisure Centre on Friday for 183 primary two pupils from Monifieth and the surrounding area.

Representatives from Monifieth High School, coaches from Monifieth Lawn Tennis Club and Bob Ross from the Scottish Ju-Jitsu Association put together a programme of fun and developmental games for the pupils.

The pupils from Grange, Seaview, Murroes, Birkhill, Liff, Auchterhouse and Mattocks had the opportunity to try out a variety of new activities in the top of the range facilities at the Ethiebeaton centre.

All of the new activities can be transferred to the playground and will help pupils to achieve the recommended one hour a day of physical exercise.
