A beach clean will be taking place at Monifieth later this month as part of a national campaign of cleaning up the coast.
The event will be held on Monday, September 23 starting at 6.30 p.m.
The clean-up is part of the Beachwatch 2013 campaign which is run by the Marine Conservation Society.
This year the Monifieth Eco-force group is organising the local event, taking over from Friends of the Earth Tayside, who have worked on the project for the last 10 years.
The beach clean comes just weeks after it was revealed that the water in Monifieth Bay failed the basic mandatory standard for bathing waters in the UK. The incident occurred at the end of July during routine testing.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency is investigating to see if they can establish a cause of the failure.
The Beachwatch campaign aims to rid the coast of litter and other rubbish.
