Some 30 volunteers turned up on Saturday to help Monifieth Eco Force to keep Monfieth beach clear of litter.
The recent heavy winds and high seas had brought fishing nets, crates, car wheels on to the sands in additon to the various plastic items.
Thirty black bags full of litter were collected by the volunteers. The Van Diner was busy handing out free refreshments to the weary beachcombers and St Andrew’s Ambulance First Aid was present to make sure that volunteers would be looked after in case of a injury. The March beach clean will take place on Saturday, March 15.
Our picture shows some of the volunteers who started early preparing to hit the beach.
