THE CARNOUSTIE Business Association has an exciting plan for the finale of Tartan Week on Saturday, April 9.
It includes a parade through the High Street by the Carnoustie Pipe Band followed by the Saints and Sinners motorcyclists in their kilts, ending in the Fairway Garage car park.
The Fairway car park will be closed for the day to create a Spring Fair with other attractions such as welly throwing, face painting, the now traditional knobbly knees competition and hopefully a parade of 50 dogs from Carnoustie Canine Capers, all in tartan.
CBA chairman Mr Peter Burke told the Guide & Gazette: “We will also be utilising the car park of the Kinloch Arms Hotel with stalls there and live bands, strolling singers, and lone pipers throughout the afternoon.
“We are hoping for a Scottish beer festival in the pub itself, with a barbecue and live band in the afternoon/evening. There will be signposts from each part of the fair to the other.”
The fair will offer food, drinks, and specialist goods from a variety of vendors. Pitches for stalls are £15 and £10 respectively.
