PLANS to convert a Carnoustie landmark into three one bedroomed flats have been approved by Angus Council.

The local authority’s development standards committee agreed to allow the Fairway Garage to be turned into properties.

Members of the committee agreed with the director of infrastructure services, Eric Lowson who said: “The principle of residential accommodation at this site is long established and I am keen to see the building brought back into gainful use.

“The proposal provides for the reuse of a building within a town centre in a manner that is generally compatible with relevant policies of the development plan.”
