A CARNOUSTIE vet and his head nurse raised around £4,000 for charity by tackling a brutal endurance event.
Jim Wallace, of Wallace Veterinary Centre, and head nurse Gill Hay took on the mighty Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for the Tayside MS Therapy Centre and Search and Rescue Dogs (Scotland), respectively.
Setting off on June 15 the pair hiked Snowdon, Wales (3,560ft), Scafell Pike, England (3,209ft) and Ben Nevis (4,409ft) in 23 hours and 10 minutes, which included travel time.
They were joined by Mark Turnbull from Fife, who helped to push the pair up and down the mountains.
Jim raised a total of £3,155 for his charity, while Gill realised nearly £1,000 for Search and Rescue Dogs.
Jim said: “I would very much like to thank our support team, of Mark’s wife, Sandra, and my wife Hilary, for feeding us and driving us between mountains, and especially all those who have very generously supported us and our charities, even in these difficult times.”
