WHEN Jennifer Cumming from Liverpool attended the Tayroots Angus & Dundee Roots Festival last September on the trail of her Angus ancestors she had no idea that she would be able to return so soon, or that expert genealogical help would be forthcoming.

Jennifer responded to the post-festival visitor survey, and became the lucky winner of a two-night stay at Willowbank House luxury guesthouse near Arbroath, and additional family history research by Angus Archives.

Jennifer said: “I was really surprised to hear that I had won! My cousin is the real expert on our family history, and we looking forward to staying at Willowbank House and finding out more about our ancestors.”

Angus Archives have looked into the information which Jennifer’s cousin Kathryn Thomson supplied, and will present their findings to the visitors during their stay.

Jennifer and her cousin Winifred from Edinburgh will meet up with Kathryn in Angus and will be taking the opportunity to visit Angus Archives, and to tour the places connected with their family, which originates in Montrose.
