Field hospital talk

GUEST speaker at Tuesday’s meeting of Monifieth Probus Club in David Lloyd Leisure, Ethiebeaton Park, was Dundee-based anaesthetist Dr Iain Levack, who is currently officer commanding the Dundee Detachment of 205 (Scottish) Field Hospital RAMC(V).

He gave members an illuminating and well-illustrated account of the life-saving work being done in the Field Hospital in Camp Bastion, Afghanistan.

President David Stephen introduced the speaker and chaired the ensuing discussion and Clive Davis proposed the vote of thanks and handed over the club’s customary donation for Iain to pass on to his chosen good cause, the Ninewells Acute Palliative Care Unit.

At the next meeting, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, Dr Andrew Jeffrey will give a talk on the Submariners’ Memorial and HMS Ambrose.
