CARNOUSTIE is rooting for Hazel Ogilvie and her team of Leona Anderson, Lisa Valentine and model Louise Pullar from top salon, Fin & Co, who have qualified for the Scottish final of the L’Oreal colour trophy at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel on Thursday, April 12.
They have been competing with big name salons from the major cities but their hard work, training, fresh ideas and determination have paid major dividends.
The next step will now begin as the salon hopes that Louise will propel their creativity down the runway impressing the judging panel and sending them straight to the hairdressing industry’s most fashion led event, the 57th L’Oréal Colour Trophy grand final on Monday, May 28, at the glamorous Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
Fin & Co. will have just 45 minutes to create a look that reflects both their advanced hairdressing skills and knowledge of key catwalk trends taken straight from the autumn / winter 2012 runway collections.
Globally renowned hairdresser and L’Oréál Colour Trophy judge Trevor Sorbie MBE said: “The regional finals are bursting with creative hairdressing talent and to make it through to this stage is an incredible achievement and really highlights the talent that is across the UK.
“Each of the judging panels will now look for the salon teams that can incorporate their fashion-led editorial inspiration onto a live model bringing together technically excellent cutting skills, beautiful wearable colour and styling that will work immaculately on the catwalk.”
The once in a lifetime prize that is up for grabs is ‘A Year of Dreams’ for both the L’Oréal Professional Colour Trophy and L’Oréal Professional Men’s Image Award winners a bespoke calendar of opportunities will be created to ensure that the winners get the most from their successful year.
