First service at Community Church

CARNOUSTIE Community Church held its first service last Sunday in the Golf Hotel.

It was a wonderful and enjoyable occasion with 115 people in attendance. The service began with that great favourite hymn ‘Amazing Grace’.

The special guest was Ruth Leslie Melville, MBE OSTJ, Provost of Angus who shared about her own spiritual experience and faith in God. People travelled from many areas of Scotland, and some even came from Northern Ireland to attend and give encouragement to this church plant.

The children had their special programme which allowed parents to be free to enjoy the service. Pastors Jim Turrent from Central Baptist Church, Dundee and Robert Hamilton preached and everyone felt inspired to follow God and invite others to join them.

The service concluded with soup and sandwiches for everyone which was greatly appreciated.

Visitors are welcome to Carnoustie Community Church on Sundays, 11 a.m. in the Golf Hotel where they will be warmly received.

There will be various programs in the coming months including, ‘Christianity Explored’, and activities for youth and women.
