FOR CARNOUSTIE continues to go from strength to strength and will very shortly disbursing the first round of donations to help local causes.

The Board of Trustees of ‘For Carnoustie’ were recently able to announce they had been awarded charitable status by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator.

A spokesperson for the Board of Trustees said: “The Board wishes to thank everyone who has been so supportive over the past months – the management, the band of wonderful hardworking volunteers, and the community which has taken the shop to its heart.”

The Board has now made preparations for making funds available to local good causes, and funding application forms are now available at their premises at 89 High Street.

The closing date for submissions is July 23, and applicants will receive a decision by post.

Dave Hodgson, shop manager, said: “The great thing about the shop is the name; everything goes back into the community.

“We promise to help the people and organisations you care about because we care about the same things.

“So next time you are passing pop in and see us in our community shop. When you’re having a clear out don’t throw anything away, we even take rags.

“This is recycling at its best, turning unwanted goods into help for local good causes.”
