ANGUS Council is encouraging residents to prepare properly for winter as part of a national campaign.
The council are backing the ‘Ready for winter?’ campaign aimed at getting Scots set for another harsh season by making them consider how the weather will affect them.
By taking a few simple precautions now, the whole community can be better prepared to face the winter.
The council recently published its winter maintenance programme, setting out how roads and footways will be treated during periods of bad weather.
A leaflet is available from council offices, libraries, police stations and some filling stations with details on which routes will be treated first and when, information on winter driving and self help during severe weather. The information is also available on line at www.angus.gov.uk/wintermaintenance and by calling ACCESSLine on 08452 777 778.
