Get the Blues in Arbroath!

One of Arbroath’s most popular music festivals returns to the burgh this weekend even bigger and better than in previous years.

Tonight (Friday) the first of the bands take to the stage for the Bell Rock Blues Festival 2013 which this year will be spread across a record 17 venues.

Over the three days of the festival there will be 34 different bands playing a total of 55 gigs with a range of music sure to have something to suit everyone.

This is the seventh annual Bell Rock Blues Festival which has increased in popularity and attracts bands and visitors from all around the world.

All the venues are free to enter and children are allowed in suitably licensed venues.

This year the line-up will include a host of familiar faces as well as plenty of newcomers. Appearing on stage this weekend will be among others: Declaration; Buick 55s; Last Orders; The Jamie Harper Band; Ruff Cut; Smokehouse and a whole lot more besides!

The music will start at 8 p.m. on Friday with Hokum hotshots in the National and Al Hughes in The Station and finishes up on Sunday evening in the West Port with the Lewis Hamilton Band.

The 34 bands are arranged in such a way that the performances overlap and there is always music playing in at least one of the 17 venues.
